The Antigua Yacht Club is delighted to announce PINEHILL as an additional sponsor for the North American Optimist Dinghy Championships (Optinam 2016) taking place in Antigua from July 10 – July 18, 2016 in English Harbour.
Today, PINEHILL proudly acknowledges the milestone of its 50th Anniversary but the greatest pride is felt in the company’s ability to continually contribute to the development of sports, culture and most importantly the youth.
"During PINEHILL’s 50 years of existence, the company has accompanied consumers through varying stages of growth, each new phase allowing for valuable lessons which subsequently fostered PINEHILL’s development and while the company continues to hold tradition dear, it looks forward to the future with enthusiasm. It is with this in mind that PINEHILL has made an investment in the International Optimists towards the staging of the 2016 North American Optimist Championships", said Janet Broadus PINEHILL’s Brand and Retail Development Manager.
"As PINEHILL embarks on yet another phase of life, the company takes this opportunity to encourage the Championship’s youthful participants to readily acknowledge the lessons to be gained from sporting activities. The advancement of sporting alone is not the lone benefit as friendships are built, success and defeat are experienced, discipline is taught, commitment is learnt, work ethic is developed and the highly valued sense of achievement is cultivated."
Commenting on the announcement, the Antigua Yacht Club’s Optinam 2016 Committee Chairperson, Paloa Vittoria said: “We are extremely delighted to welcome PINEHILL to our list of sponsors for Optinam 2016. We share the PINEHILL values, and appreciate their commitment to the development of youth sailing. We look forward to providing the competing sailors with a wholesome product during the tournament, to ensure that they are at their most fit both on and off the water.
Currently there are 150 young sailors from twenty countries registered for Optinam 2016.
Optinam 2016 is set to open with a grand opening ceremony and parade on July 10th at 6 p.m. The sailors will move off from Falmouth Harbour and make their way to Nelson’s Dockyard for the ceremony, complete with cultural performances and fireworks.
